Incarnation of Lord Chitragupt
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Chitragupta is considered to be an incarnation created directly by Brahma, the creator god, from his own mind (Chitta) and in secrecy (Gupta), hence the name Chitragupta; essentially signifying that he is the embodiment of the divine consciousness keeping track of human actions and karma.
